No more freezes, and updates reach you faster

A habit watcher could lock the engine against itself and freeze every chat. Fixed, and the checks behind each update now run in about a sixth of the time.

Engine

The freeze

The new habit watcher asked for the engine's attention twice in a row while it already had it, so it waited on itself forever and every chat stood still. It now asks once, and the engine stops loudly in testing if anything ever tries that again.

Faster checks

Every update runs more than three thousand checks. They used to run one after another and took about six minutes. They now run side by side on every core and finish in about a minute and a half, slowest first, and a check that only fails when crowded is run again alone and named.

Packaging builds the engine, the window and the screens at the same time and no longer sits idle for a minute waiting on the Mac to finish indexing it.
