Tidying a long chat no longer spins, and a recovered overflow no longer shows a red error
A chat that cannot be shortened now waits before trying again, every tidy-up ends cleanly, and a too-long chat that fixes itself no longer flashes an error.
When a very long chat could not be shortened, Bandicot tried again after every single reply. The "Compacting context..." spinner kept coming back and the chat never got smaller. Now, after an attempt that did not work, Bandicot waits until the chat has grown by a meaningful amount before it tries again.
Every tidy-up now ends properly. Before, switching to another chat at the wrong moment could leave the spinner on, and an error message with a quotation mark in it could make the end signal get lost. Both are fixed, so the spinner always goes away.
The chat's stats now remember how the last tidy-up ended and, if it failed, why. That makes a quiet failure something you can read instead of guess at. A tidy-up that did nothing is no longer counted as one.
Finally, when a chat grew too long for the model and Bandicot shortened it and carried on by itself, you used to see a red error and the chat looked finished, even though the answer was still on its way. Now the error only appears if the recovery really fails.
