Long chats no longer slow Bandicot down

Opening or watching a very long chat now takes the same small effort as a short one, so the app stays quick while a big session runs.

Engine

Until now, every time Bandicot noted a step in a chat, it read the whole saved conversation again just to find its place. In a chat with thousands of messages that meant reading millions of words over and over, which made the app busy and sluggish while a session ran.

Bandicot now remembers where each saved conversation ends and only looks at what is new. Showing the latest messages of a chat works the same way: it jumps straight to the part you are looking at instead of going through the whole history.

The same goes for the quick checks Bandicot makes before each step to see whether you have sent a new instruction mid-run: with none waiting, it no longer opens the conversation to look. Opening many chats one after another also stays quick, because each chat is read on its own without making the others wait.

Messages and finished results are still saved to disk the moment they happen. Only the small progress notes between them are saved a touch more lazily, and they are made permanent together with the next message.
