Pair any device from one place
Settings now has Your devices: pick your captain in one click, pair an iPhone or another Mac by scanning a code, and remove any device.
One click for the captain
The captain is the Mac where your work runs. Your iPhone and your other Macs follow it. Settings, Your devices now lists this Mac and every other Mac you paired, and one click makes any awake one the captain. A Mac that is asleep stays greyed out until you wake it, so you never hand the work to a Mac that cannot answer.
Scan a code to pair
Choose iPhone or Mac and press Show pairing code. Bandicot draws a code to scan, with six digits underneath and a ten minute timer. The new device shows the same six digits, so you pair only when they match. If you have never paired anything, the first click sets up your device group too.
Each kind has its own three steps, and they say plainly which apps you can download today. The Mac app is ready. The iPhone app is on its way and is not published yet.
Every device in one list
Below the code sits every device that can reach this Mac, with its kind and when it was last seen. Remove asks once more and then cuts the device off, even if it is switched off or lost. Apps on this Mac that use the local server keep their own list just below.
