The Claude usage meter could freeze on an old number for an hour after a limit reset. It now refreshes in the background and shows a reset at once.
The meter for a Claude subscription read its numbers on demand and could keep an old reading long after the window behind it had reset, so it showed 92% when you had the whole allowance back.
It now reads your usage from Claude Code in the background, one check at a time with a time limit, and answers from the last reading at once. A healthy reading refreshes before it expires, a window that has reset shows 0% straight away, and a failed check is marked as stale instead of looking current.
