Keyboard shortcuts
Every keyboard shortcut in the Bandicot Mac app: chats, panes, the prompt bar, steering, zoom, terminals, dictation and the voice window.
Available now. A current user-facing path exists within the stated scope.
App and window
⌘N starts a session, ⌘O opens a project, ⌘K opens the command palette and a double tap of ⌘ opens Home.
Shortcuts in the menu bar always win: the window never claims a key a menu uses. That is why ⌘M minimizes the window and the models library is ⇧⌘M.
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
⌘N | New session in the open project |
⌘O | Open a folder as a project |
⌘, | Settings |
⌘K | Command palette |
⌘ ⌘ (tap twice) | Home: switch place, project or profile |
⌘B | Show or hide the chats sidebar |
⌘/ | Search chats |
⌘\ | New chat |
⌘F | Search this conversation: opens the Search transcript window |
⌘P | Pick a provider |
⇧⌘M | Models library |
⌥Tab | Next workspace tab: Chat, Plan, Agents, Canvas |
⌘= ⌘- ⌘0 | Zoom in, zoom out, actual size; ⌘ with the scroll wheel also zooms |
⌃⌘F | Full screen |
⌘R | Reload the window |
⌘M | Minimize the window |
⌘Q | Quit Bandicot |
Canvas
On the Canvas, scroll to pan, hold ⌘ and scroll to zoom, hold Space and drag to pan, and press ⌘G to group the cards you selected.
Dragging on empty space also pans. Hold Shift and drag on empty space to draw a box around cards and select them all. Esc closes an open menu and clears the selection. Delete or Backspace removes the selected cards, and ⌘G and ⇧⌘G group and ungroup them; grouping needs two or more cards and editing switched on with Enable editing. Keys do nothing while you type in a card's text. Canvas explains what the cards hold.
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| Scroll | Pan the board |
⌘ and scroll | Zoom, from a quarter to three times |
| Space and drag, or middle button and drag | Pan the board |
| Shift and drag on empty space | Select every card inside the box |
| Esc | Close the menu and clear the selection |
| Delete or Backspace | Remove the selected cards (editing on) |
⌘G | Group the selected cards (editing on) |
⇧⌘G | Ungroup (editing on) |
Inspector panes
⌘1 to ⌘8 open the inspector panes in order, and ⌃Tab moves between the ones already open.
The shortcut opens the inspector if it is closed. The Mac app explains each pane.
| Keys | Pane |
|---|---|
⌘1 | Context |
⌘2 | Plan |
⌘3 | Diffs |
⌘4 | Editor |
⌘5 | Terminal |
⌘6 | Side chat |
⌘7 | Browser |
⌘8 | Efficiency |
⌃Tab and ⌃⇧Tab | Next and previous open pane |
Prompt bar and running work
Enter sends, ⇧Enter adds a line, ⌥Enter steers the agent while it works and ⌘. stops it.
While the agent works, Enter queues your message as a follow-up for when it finishes, and ⌥Enter delivers it at the next safe step instead. Sessions explains the difference. With Enter sends turned off in Settings › Input, ⌘Enter sends.
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enter | Send, or queue a follow-up while the agent works |
⇧Enter | New line |
⌥Enter | Steer the running agent |
⌘Enter or ⌃Enter | Send when Enter sends is off |
⌘. | Stop the running turn |
/ | Commands and skills list |
@ | Files and folders list |
| Up, Down, Enter or Tab, Esc | Move in the list, pick, close it |
⇧⌘D | Dictate into the prompt bar |
⌥⌘T | Open or close the voice window |
⌘Z | Undo in a text field, or undo the newest applied edit from its card |
Terminal pane
In the Terminal pane, ⌘T opens a new terminal and ⌘⇧[ and ⌘⇧] move between terminals; every other key goes to the shell.
One pane holds up to eight terminals. Double-click a terminal's tab to rename it.
Questions
How do I open the models library?
Press ⇧⌘M, or choose Model › Select Model. ⌘M minimizes the window, as in every Mac app.
How do I redirect the agent without stopping it?
Type the correction and press ⌥Enter. The agent reads it at its next safe step.
Can I change these shortcuts?
Not in Settings. You can change the send key: turn off Enter sends in Settings › Input and ⌘Enter sends instead.
