A cheaper setup is adopted only when every paired run agrees
Efficiency promotions now need consistent gains across paired runs, and a memory index rebuild never leaves recall empty.
One lucky run no longer carries a change
When Bandicot tries a cheaper setup it runs the old and new side by side on the same tasks. Before, the totals decided, so one run that happened to be far cheaper could hide several that cost more. Now each pair is compared on its own, and the change is adopted only when the gains point the same way across the pairs, not because of a single outlier.
Recall stays available while the index repairs itself
When a full sweep finds a damaged memory index, it now clears and refills it in one step. Anything reading memory meanwhile sees the old index or the repaired one, never an empty one.
